Facebook Pay provides a convenient, secure, consistent payment experience across Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp (via Facebook)

Instead of focusing on privacy, political manipulation, and content concerns, Facebook has launched its own payment system.

Introduced on Tuesday, the unimaginatively named Facebook Pay lets users shop, donate, and reimburse via the social network’s various platforms.

“People already use payments across our apps,” Deborah Liu, VP of marketplace and commerce, wrote in a blog announcement.”Facebook Pay will make these transactions easier while continuing to ensure your payment information is secure and protected.”

Rolling out now to Facebook and Messenger users in the US, Facebook Pay can be used for fundraisers, in-game purchases, event tickets, person-to-person payments, and purchases from select Pages and businesses on Marketplace.

Simply visit Settings > Facebook Pay on the main app or website to add a payment method; most major credit and debit cards are supported, as well as PayPal.

Arrange it up app-by-app, or for use across all platforms (where available).

“We won’t automatically set up Facebook Pay across the apps you are active on, unless you choose to do so,” Liu explained.

Users can also add a PIN or employ device biometrics—Touch or Face ID (the latter of which winks at you after completing transactions)—for an added layer of security.

Facebook does not receive or store biometric information.

It does, however, collect data about any purchase, including payment method, transaction date, billing, shipping, and contact details.

“We designed Facebook Pay to securely store and encrypt your card and bank account numbers,” according to the company (which was at the heart of scandals such as Cambridge Analytica and the 2016 U.S. election).

As with any keystroke you make in a Facebook-owned program, actions on Facebook Pay can (and will) be used to help customize content and ads: Buy a baseball glove on Marketplace and expect to be peddled the rest of the kit.

You can also choose whether to opt in for email marketing from businesses with which you shop or nonprofits to which you donate. Activity will not be shared with friends or to your profile or news feed unless you actively choose to.

Facebook Pay is built on existing financial infrastructure and partnerships, according to Liu, and is separate from the Calibra wallet, which will run on the Libra network.

The social media firm this summer unveiled its own stablecoin cryptocurrency, supported by financial companies like Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Uber.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Launches New Under Armour Collection

https://www.blackenterprise.com/dwayne-the-rock-johnson-launches-new-under-armour-collection/

According to Forbes, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has released another collection in collaboration with Under Amour.

The latest Project Rock collection, in conjunction with the UA Freedom initiative, will help to celebrate and honor the brave men and women who are dedicated to protecting us and our country, every single day. The launch will help support the Fisher House Foundation, which provides a network of comfort homes around the world where families of veterans can stay at no cost while their military family members receive treatment at nearby military hospitals and Veterans Affairs medical centers.

The Rock announced on his Instagram feed, “Grateful to bring you our new 2019 Project Rock x UA Freedom Collection in support of the men and women of our U.S. military. Our @ProjectRock is proud to partner with @FisherHouseFdtn who assists active military, vets and their families while their loved ones are in the hospital. I thank you all for your service. @UnderArmour

According to Muscle & Fitness, this latest Project Rock collection, called “Chase Greatness,” is the first installment of a yearlong storytelling arc called “Build the Belief.” It is also the first time Seven Bucks Creative, the agency owned by The Rock and his business partner Dany Garcia, has contributed to a UA x Project Rock collection.

“We all want some change in our lives, maybe even greatness,” Johnson says. “But it’s not easy. Sometimes we don’t think we’re good enough or sometimes life deals us a tough hand. But that’s exactly why we grind. In the toughest moments in my life, I’ve stuck by a simple truth: when your back is up against the wall, the only way out is to put the work in. Because when you put in the work, rep by rep, day by day, you build something in yourself. You build the belief that you can do more.

“That’s what our Project Rock collaboration with Under Armour is all about,” Johnson says. “We’re not just giving people the tools to chase their greatness, we’re creating a movement of people who are willing to put in the work.”

The popular actor and wrestling legend has recently launched his liquor brand, Teremana Tequila.

Tony Stark’s death was one of the saddest moments in Avengers: Endgame. However, the water works are about to begin again, because the hero reunites with his grown-up daughter in a deleted scene that was just released by Disney.

On Tuesday, Disney+ officially launched, making many movies, including Avengers: Endgame, streamable to fans. Subscribers noticed the two-minute scene while they were watching the movie on the streaming service, INSIDER reported.

The scene, which takes place in a dream-like setting, features Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why, Knives Out) as an adult version of Morgan, Stark’s daughter who lost her dad in Avengers: Endgame.

If the “I love you 3,000” scene didn’t make you tear up, this one will: Stark gets to meet Morgan again at a later point. It’s unclear where they are, but their brief dialogue goes straight to the heart.

“I’m proud of you and sad. I’m strong like mom and I’m happy,” Morgan tells Stark in the scene. “I’m happy we had the time that we did and that you were there for me.”

I’m not crying, you’re crying.

Avengers: Endgame is streaming on Disney+ now.
