Given the way Wendy Williams kept the initial details of her divorce so close to her vest, I’m surprised she’s been this forthcoming about the process of ending her marriage to her now-estranged husband Kevin Hunter.

But it appears that when she sits down with folks, questions about her less than perfect personal life are not off limits. Recently, Williams sat down with Urban View host Karen Hunter of “The Karen Hunter Show” to discuss the latest. Naturally, the divorce came up.

Hunter wanted to know if Wendy planned on keeping her married name, which is also Hunter. Her response to the question ended up making the talk show host a bit emotional.

“No my name is Wendy Hunter, that’s my son’s name and you can’t take away twenty…don’t make me cry…next.”

Later, the Sirius host asked Williams if there was a chance that she and her estranged husband would reconcile.

No. Don’t ask. No! Girl. No. Don’t ask. I know what you’re saying. But my family is good, and we’ll always be family.”

Wendy also shared how her time in the sober house helped her to craft the life she’s currently enjoying.

“there were things in my life going on where I knew I had to sit and quiet everything, and not have knocks on the door….I just need to think,”

In the midst of her tears, Wendy did say that she’s happy these days.

Forever 21 may want to forgo the freebies or find a better curation process. The brand is currently under social media heat for allegedly sending their plus size customers Atkins Diet Bars with their online plus size orders. Yikes. Atkins Diet Bars are used for those on low carb diets that are attempting to lose or maintain weight.

Twitter user @WiseKatya posted to the social media platform stating, “Hey @forever21 do you include weightloss Atkins bars in all your shipments or just in the ones for ladies over 1X??”

This led to other Twitter users showing their plus size packages accompanied by the Atkins Bar.

While Twitter was in an uproar with people angrily tweeting to the brand about their discrimination towards their plus size customers. Personally, it was more questionable to me that the brand would partner with a diet company when they target towards younger children.

While people were insinuating it was targeting towards plus size customers, it seems that it went to many of their consumers.

Jezebel reported the story and Forever 21 sent a statement to the media outlet, “From time to time, Forever 21 surprises our customers with free test products from third parties in their e-commerce orders. The freebie items in question were included in all online orders, across all sizes and categories, for a limited time and have since been removed. This was an oversight on our part and we sincerely apologize for any offense this may have caused to our customers, as this was not our intention in any way.”

Comedy legend Eddie Murphy may be coming to Netflix. According to TMZ, he is reportedly in negotiations with the streaming giant to secure a multimillion-dollar deal that will allow him to create the content of his dreams. Should this pending project come to pass, the 58-year-old comic would bank around $70 million. As of 2019, he is worth a whopping $160 million largely due to his movies, which have grossed nearly $6.7 billion at the worldwide box office, reports CelebrityNetWorth.com.

Other black comedians who have signed lucrative deals with Netflix include Dave Chappelle, who earned $60 million for three stand-up specials in 2017, and Chris Rock, who took home $40 million for his two specials in 2018.

During a recent appearance at the Comedians screening at the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles, Murphy stated, “You’ve got to start all over again, but there’s no way around that process; you have to go do it that way.”

Murphy got his start in the early 80s, on NBC’s Saturday Night Live before he started taking on film roles starring in 48 Hrs., Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America, as well as the stand-up smash Eddie Murphy: Raw. He hasn’t performed much stand-up since. He reemerged in the 90s, starring in fan favorites like Shrek, Dr. Dolittle, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, and Daddy Day Care and later making a huge splash in 2006’s Dreamgirls, playing the overzealous James “Thunder” Early, which earned him an Oscar nominee.

Hopefully, we get the same energy from his new content.

There is another Facebook event that might take over the viral “Storm Area 51” internet craze⁠ and it involves one of the most mysterious areas in world⁠—the Bermuda Triangle.

The rival Facebook event, which was created on July 12, has attracted thousands of people who are interested or say they’ll actually go to the spooky oceanic region, which has been responsible for many airplane and ship disappearances due to unexplainable circumstances, Fox 5 NY reported.

Anthony Dominick Carnovale, who created the event on Facebook, told Fox 5 NY that the event isn’t actually a joke gathering. Carnovale said once the concept of breaching the Bermuda Triangle reached 25,000, he decided to create a GoFundMe to raise funds for an actual party in Florida.

The event, which has the catch phrase “it can’t swallow all of us,” will take place on Oct. 1 at 8:00 a.m. EDT and requires all attendees to “dress as SpongeBob SquarePants or pirates.” There will be food and drinks to buy as well. Any additional funds raised and unused will also be donated to cancer research, in memory of Carnovale’s grandfather, who passed away in 2017, Fox News noted.

“I’m contractually obligated to only use the money for the event,” Carnovale added. “If I somehow can’t, I have to give everyone their money back.”

Carnovale also created the event because he was concerned that people will actually go to the “Storm Area 51” event, even though it was made clear that it was a hoax gathering on Facebook.

“The Area 51 event is dangerous,” Carnovale explained. “I honestly just don’t want people to attend the Area 51 event because I don’t want people getting shot or arrested.”

Instead of going to the top secret military area, Carnovale said a giant party with live entertainment would be a safer option, even if no one actually tries to find missing boats and planes in the Bermuda Triangle.

“Live music, entertainment, beach party,” Carnovale added. “Why not come to the Bermuda Triangle Festival?”
