Last night’s finale of Starz’s P-Valley, the buzzy summer series about the complicated lives of exotic dancers created by award-winning playwright Katori Hall, left audiences wanting more from the characters they have watched break and breakthrough the first season. (We know you’ll get that dance studio one day Mercedes!) The last episode answered many burning questions: Who was Autumn running away from? Why Keyshawn wouldn’t leave her abusive relationship? And ultimately, would Uncle Clifford—played brilliantly by Nicco Annan—save The Pynk from the money grubbing hands of Mayor Ruffin and the Kyle Brothers?
Many dark truths about the people who work at Chucalissa’s finest establishment came into the light. But one thing has been left hanging to unpack: Who was killed in the Champagne room?
With that nail-biting cliffhanger, waiting until season two feels too much like forever. Thankfully costar Nicco Annan turned forever into today. Yes, Girl! podcast cohosts Cori Murray and Charli Penn spoke with him about all the things that went down at The Pynk, including fans reaction the season one, Uncle Clifford’s and Lil Murda’s love story, and the blessings of having a chosen family. Teyana Taylor and her husband Iman Shumpert had an extra “lit” Labor Day weekend. Just 24 hours after their baby shower, their baby girl Rue made her grand entrance.
Proud papa Iman made the announcement on his Instagram page Monday night (Sept. 7), confirming that their second daughter was birthed at home in their bathroom just like her big sister Junie.
“At 3:28 am on Sept 6th, 2020 Rue Rose 
decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit. She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!!,” he captioned a video of beautiful baby Rose sleeping. “Now…when we buy homes, we always find a bathroom with great energy… but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital! Our newest edition entered the world in the water and came out looking around and ready to explore.”

Reposting her husband’s message, Taylor also shared the joyous news on her Instagram page. “We love you Rue, welcome baby girl @babyruerose 
,” the singer wrote.
Taylor and Shumpert previously revealed that the birth of her first daughter Junie happened unexpectedly on their bathroom floor. This time around, Taylor planned to do it the exact same way…but with a little assistance. “I’m considering home birth, and I’m actually going to be doing it with Erykah,” Taylor said back in June during an interview with Nick Cannon. “Her and Iman are going to deliver my baby. I’m super excited. Imma have her just sing her verse from ‘Lowkey’ to me to calm my nerves.”
A day prior to welcoming baby Rue, the Shumperts had a blast time celebrating the new arrival with friends and family at their Atlanta baby shower. Celebrity guests like Lori Harvey, Karrueche Tran and rapper Rasheeda were in attendance.

Vice president candidate Kamala Harris addressed the talk around the COVID-19 vaccine that Donald Trump has been saying will arrive before the end of the year. Harris cautioned the public to not listen to Trump and pay more attention to what the public health experts are saying. During her appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, Harris pointed out that Trump has not been a trustworthy source when it comes to happenings around the anticipated vaccine.
“I think that we have learned since this pandemic started ― but really before that ― that there’s very little that we can trust that comes out of Donald Trump’s mouth,” Harris said. “No, I would not trust his word. I would trust the word of public health experts and scientists, but not Donald Trump.”
Harris added that Trump is more focused on the fact that the 2020 Presidential election is two months away and is more concerned about persuading the public to vote and will “sideline” the experts.
[Trump’s] looking at an election coming up in less than 60 days and he’s grasping for whatever he can get to pretend that he’s been a leader on this issue when he has not.”
When asked if she would get the vaccine if it is available before the election, she didn’t directly say. It seems that if it becomes available while Trump is still in office, Harris won’t trust it.
“I think that’s going to be an issue for all of us,” she said. “I will say that I would not trust Donald Trump. And it would have to be a credible source of information that talks about the efficacy and the reliability of whatever he’s talking about. I will not take his word for it. He wants us to inject bleach.”
Harris, 55, also said that she and presidential candidate Joe Biden have a plan for the vaccination process if they are elected into office. She said they plan to focus on those who were the most vulnerable during the pandemic.
“Joe Biden and I have a plan ― a national plan,” she said. “Donald Trump does not. … There has to be an overall plan that thinks about those who ― and will administer vaccines to those who ― have been hardest hit, who are most vulnerable and most at need.”

The Gold Ticket
“The CandyMan” David Klein and his partner Stephanie have announced their The Gold Ticket contest (which we first learned about at Delish). The obvious allusion to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is an apt one considering the grand prize.
Here’s how it works: They are hiding a golden “ticket” (which is actually a necklace) in every state. You can enter any state’s hunt for $49.98. Your purchase also includes a free 40-piece Spectrum Confections CBD 10mg Jelly Bean pack (retail $59.99), so no one will go home empty handed. There are only 1,000 spots per state available, though.
The Gold Ticket
The person who officially registers for the hunt will be signed up in a private forum (the game requires a Facebook account). On the day and time their state’s hunt starts they will be sent a clue in the form of a riddle to guide them. The contestant who finds the necklace with the winning promo code on it will then be able to redeem it for $5,000.
But the real fun begins after every state has had a chance to search for their necklace. Each person who entered, not just the 50 winners, will be entered into The Ultimate Treasure Hunt. Klein will then hand the grand-prize winner the key to their very own Jelly Belly candy factory.
The real-life Charlie Bucket can sell the building if they want. But Klein would “welcome the chance to give you some of his 55 years in the candy business advice” if you are ready to get into the jelly bean industry.
Treasure Hunt spots are already available to purchase. The first state scheduled to go searching for a Gold Ticket is Georgia on September 30. If you want to play in your state you might want to sign up soon. This contest is also a fantasy come true for Klein. On the contest’s official site he wrote, “When I invented Jelly Belly jelly beans in 1976, my dream was to ultimately give one of our candy factories to a complete stranger.”
That’s perfect! One of our lifelong dreams—along with every other kid—has been to have someone give us a candy factory.
