When it comes to Taraji P. Henson, if there is one thing to know it’s that she loves a glam moment. From red carpets to television appearances, the actress is going to always be picture-ready when she steps out. That’s why yesterday evening, her effortless slay was nothing less than expected. The Empire star hosted the 2020 American Music Awards and despite the audience being shrunk down to socially distanced families and friends, she still gave a show.

Last week when speaking to ESSENCE, the actress was anticipating getting back on stage and tapping into her theatre school background. “I love the stage and any chance I get to showcase many of my talents,” she exclaimed. Opening up the show in an iced out nude jumpsuit, Henson kicked off the AMA’s with viral Tik Tok dance moves to songs like “WAP” and “Savage,” by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.

Throughout the night, the actress waltzed the stage in couture gowns from brands like Area, Pyer Moss, and George Shobeika. Teaming up with celebrity stylist and longtime wardrobe collaborator Jason Bolden, Henson is speculated to have over 12 wardrobe changes yesterday evening. While award season this year leading into 2021 will be diffrent, Taraji is another host that weathered through this new normal in the entertainment industry.

For some reason, I recently tripped over classic Hollywood photos of the iconic and multi-talented performer, Eartha Kitt.  And then I wondered how did I miss purchasing paraphernalia of her legendary (albeit campy) portrayal of Catwoman during the 60s Batman TV series all this time?  Trust me, that faux pas will soon be rectified. But it raises the question-does one's ethnicity always fuel their interest in nerd culture?  And should it?  Let's explore this for a bit during this Wednesday's MWIR! Hi everyone! I have some interesting news about Disneyland Resort and at Disney World. At Walt Disney World, they are bringing back the Park Hopper Perk starting on January 1, 2021. The perk lets guests visit two of Disney World’s various parks with one ticket on the same day, such as Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios or EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. Guests whose tickets or annual passes in the Park Hopper benefits will be able to visit more than one park per day, though there will be some precautionary modifications as Disney World continues its phased reopening.

 I also found something interesting about the Park Hopping. The guests who park hop to Disney’s Hollywood Studios will not be able to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Disney said in a press release: “And, to help us manage attendance, upon the return of the Park Hopper option in January, only guests with a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance- Guests visiting from another theme park will not be able to join the virtual queue.” Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance’s boarding groups are currently distributed at 7:00AM and 2:00PM, when park hopping will begin for each day. Guests who attend Disney’s Hollywood Studios  as their first park of the day with a Disney Park Pass will still be able to try for a boarding group at those times.

Hopping to a second park will only be allowed between 2 p.m. and closing, and guests will need to make reservations for the first park they intend to visit in a day, according to Disney. Reservations won’t be required for the second park guests “hop” to, but that may change. Also, guests’ ability to visit a second park will be subject to that park’s capacity limits.

The changes are designed to help Disney manage attendance and promote physical distancing as COVID-19 remains a concern. Disney World said it would also continue to enforce enhanced health and safety measures, like requiring all guests age 2 and older to wear face coverings.

Walt Disney World has shared a peek inside the rooms of the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ hotel — and they look incredible!

Star Wars fans are one step closer to living out their space adventure dreams aboard the new Galactic Star cruiser, currently in progress at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

This week, Disney announced some major theme park news at the IAAPA Expo: Virtual Education Conference, revealing new information about highly anticipated ride openings and hotels. Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, gave updates on the progress at the Avengers Campus at Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, new rides and attractions coming to Epcot (including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, set to open next year), and an upcoming “Zootopia”-themed land at Shanghai Disney Resort, among other projects. We can’t wait to see all these plans come to life, but we’re most excited for the Star Wars: Galactic Star cruiser, a totally unique experience currently in the works at Disney World.

Even though the pandemic has delayed some of these new projects, Star Wars fans will be thrilled to know that work is still in progress for this completely immersive, two-day, two-night experience set aboard a starship. According to the latest update on the Disney Parks Blog, “You can become the heroes of your own Star Wars story in a new type of immersive experience that only Disney could create. Guests will cruise the galaxy in style aboard the Halcyon, known for its impeccable service and exotic destinations…You’ll stay in well-appointed cabins, experience onboard dining, make a planet-side excursion to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu and much more.”

That’s right — as a part of this innovative experience, guests will take a trip to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This intricately themed land is one of Disney’s most immersive — cast members use greetings like “Bright Suns” instead of “Hello,” Stormtroopers roam around looking for troublemakers, and you can find intergalactic dishes and drinks that you won’t see anywhere else in the parks, like blue milk. Newly released mock-ups depict onboard sleeping quarters, and they look positively out of this world, with futuristic bed designs and a window displaying a view of deep space. Disney hasn’t released prices or a set opening date, and reservations are not yet available, but we can’t wait to book our own Star Wars vacations to a land (not so) far, far away.

Over at Disneyland Resort, Disney’s California Adventure has reopened the shopping and dining for guests to have fun shopping and have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. However, the Disneyland rides will not be open until the start of next year on January 1, 2021.
