You probably heard this this week that instead of worrying about some of the more pressing matters going on, including the GOP health care plan or focusing on his Friday meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Donald Trump was going after one of the hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. No, not Joe Scarborough, but Mika Brzezinski (his soon-to-be wife), who’d spoken on the show recently about the president having fake TIME magazines with his face on the cover in his office. She also said this:

“Nothing makes a man feel better than making a fake cover of a mag about himself, lying every day and destroying the country.”

WENN

Your 45th president somehow found out about her comments and tweeted this:

While quite a few people were upset by his comments, it was honestly business as usual for a man who has the thinnest skin of all the mammals on earth. He has actually gone after Brzezinski in the past (she, herself, has said regrettable things, including blaming rappers for White people’s use of the N-word…). But I couldn’t help but notice, despite the fact that a lot of people say all sorts of things about the Donald, he finds the most enjoyment out of going after women (not Black women though, I think he knows the dragging that would ensue). And as I explained to my husband last night, while people have a right to defend themselves when a person, man or woman, speaks negatively of them, there’s something quite disgusting about hearing or watching a man argue with women. Where is this vitriol with men? He even has a history of going after the wives of men he doesn’t like — not the men. And while his character is as clean as a toilet, he has the nerve to go after the looks of women and what they’re capable of in relation to the men in their lives. Bet he wouldn’t speak to Putin out of the side of his neck…

Check out nine other times he went after women much harder than we suspect he’d ever go after a man.

Rosie O’Donnell

This is a feud that has carried on for years. Trump has called O’Donnell everything from “crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb” to “a loser.” But one of the most disrespectful digs was at her reveal that she’d struggled with depression:

She announced last week that she suffers from depression. They called me for a comment, and rather than saying ‘I have no comment’ or ‘isn’t that too bad oh, that’s so bad,’ I said, ‘I think I can cure her depression,’ — most of you heard this. ‘If she stopped looking in the mirror, I think she’d stop being so depressed.’ And they said, ‘It’s a horrible statement, it’s a horrible statement.’ What’s so horrible about it? She attacks me. She said I had terrible hair. You know, it’s amazing. She calls me comb-over, she calls me — but we’re not allowed to attack.

Carly Fiorina

In an Rolling Stone story from 2015, Trump talked openly and very ugly about Carly Fiorina who was also in the Republican race for president:

When the anchor throws to Carly Fiorina for her reaction to Trump’s momentum, Trump’s expression sours in schoolboy disgust as the camera bores in on Fiorina. “Look at that face!” he cries. “Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!” The laughter grows halting and faint behind him. “I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

Arianna Huffington

Trump took an especially low blow at Huffington Post co-founder Arianna Huffington and her split from ex-husband Michael Huffington, who is bisexual, in 1997.

Megyn Kelly

In an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, Trump came for Megyn Kelly (known for her affinity for a White Jesus and Santa Claus — I didn’t forget) after she confronted him in one of the first Republican nominee debates about being sexist. He wasn’t happy about that. Here’s what he told Lemon about that debate moment.

“I knew it was going to be a big crowd, because I get big crowds, I get ratings,” Trump said. “They call me the ratings machine. And she gets out and she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions. You know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever. In my opinion, she was off base.”

Hillary Clinton

Trump has said just about everything you can about Hillary Clinton since running against her for president, but one of his more disrespectful jabs came before they ever faced off with one another on the campaign trail. When speaking in 2015 about the idea of her running for president, he said, “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America?”

Heidi Cruz

When things heated up between Senator Ted Cruz and Trump in the race for Republican nominee for president, an anti-Trump Super PAC tried to shame Melania Trump for posing nude in British GQ in 2000. Trump took his anger out on Cruz’s wife, Heidi.

“Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad,” he tweeted. “Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

He would then go on to use a meme comparing the looks of Melania and Heidi with the caption, “a picture is worth a thousand words.”

Kim Kardashian

While he said he liked Kim Kardashian, deeming her a “nice person,” in an interview with HLN, that didn’t stop Trump from saying she’d gained too much weight during her first pregnancy while carrying North West.

“She’s a nice person, I’ve known her over the years,” he said. “She’s really a nice person. She’s gotten a little bit large. I would say this, I don’t think you should dress like you weigh 120 pounds.”

VOLTRON to Premiere New Episode, Bring News and Hunk’s Food Truck to SDCC

http://nerdist.com/voltron-sdcc-2017-panel-premiere-season-3/

Are you all caught up with Voltron: Legendary Defender? I sure hope so, as season two of the Netflix animated series from DreamWorks was one of the most exciting, exhilarating, and enjoyable seasons of television that I think I’ve ever seen. (I recapped them all if you missed it; they start here and end here if you want to read.) But even though the season ended on a major cliffhanger, don’t count the paladin out yet. And if you’re a devotee of the sacred lions and their intrepid pilots, then you’ll want to catch up with Voltron: Legendary Defender at San Diego Comic-Con in just a few weeks.

There are some amazing and exciting things coming in the Voltron sphere in the coming months, and if you’re attending SDCC, you’re going to get to partake in some of them. Naturally there’s going to be a panel; why wouldn’t there be?! This year, the Voltron crew are taking over room 6BCF on Thursday, July 20, from 10:30 AM-11:30 AM. Join executive producer Joaquim dos Santos, co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery, and stars Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge) and Tyler Labine (Hunk), as well as Nerdist’s own Kyle Anderson (yes, that’s me) as moderator as we debut the first episode of season three for the audience and show and tell you a bit of what’s to come. (The big image at the top of this article? That’s a first look at the premiere!) We already showed you a glimpse of Prince Lotor, but we promise you’ll get more!

Every single attendee to the panel will receive the new Voltron chapter book “The Rise of Voltron” from Simon & Schuster and an exclusive poster, made especially for you by the crew of the show. Wanna take a look at that poster? Here ya go!

SDCCPoster2017_Borderless_WITH DATE_TO SIZE_FIN_3

And a really cool thing? If you happen to have gone to NYCC last year and picked up the exclusive Voltron poster, the two join together to form the ultimate in lion-based artwork.

SDCCPoster2017meetsNYCC2016Poster

After the panel, on Thursday the 20th from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, fans and cosplayers are encouraged to head over to PETCO Park for FANDOM Fest where Joaquim, Lauren, Bex, and Tyler will be on hand to check out your best Voltron cosplay and met fans.

This is followed on Friday, July 21, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, our quartet will be at the autograph area and in Sails Pavilion at the San Diego Convention Center for a ticketed signing.

HUNK FOOD FNL

And if you sadly can’t make any of these things, or even if you can and you just want to get your grub on, then all con long, you’ll be able to head to PETCO Park’s Interactive Zone and hit up the official Hunk food truck, serving every paladin’s (least) favorite snack: Green Food Goo! Don’t worry, though; it’s actually real tasty. The truck will be open from 11am-6pm Thursday through Saturday and 11-5 on Sunday. And, for all other Voltron things, the Lion Forge Comics booth (#1903) will be giving away Black Lion masks (while supplies last), massive 22″x 34″ 4-Color posters (while supplies last), 4-color bookmarks and will be selling Voltron Legendary Defender Volume 1 which collects issues 1-5 of the miniseries.

That good? Will your Voltron heart be satiated? Come! Join me and the good folks at Voltron: Legendary Defender and share your love of all things lion.

Things We Saw Today: Westworld‘s Evan Rachel Wood the Latest Celeb to Support #Ham4All

https://www.themarysue.com/tws-evan-rachel-wood-ham-4-all/

In addition to raising money for a great cause, one of the best things about the #Ham4All challenge is listening to a variety of voices sing music from Hamilton. This time, it’s Westworld‘s Evan Rachel Wood doing her best Angelica Schuyler while singing a bit from “Satisfied.” She totally nails it! That should be no surprise, though. Wood has always been really musically inclined and she’s the lead singer of a rock duo called Rebel and a Basketcase. The woman has pipes!

Supergirl: Being Super #4 Review

http://blacknerdproblems.com/supergirl-being-super-4-review/

Writer: Mariko Tomaki / Artist: Joëlle Jones / DC Comics

Supergirl: Being Super is the biggest surprise hit on comic book shelves this year and the most thoughtful Kara Danvers story I have ever experienced, hands down. The depth of this series is incredible, focusing more on Kara’s internal dialogue and her struggle to find identity as both a regular teenager and an alien, making Kara and her support system feel genuine and relatable at the same time as being a superhero origin story. There are high stakes, real death, and authentic pain and emotion that make Supergirl: Being Super the most compelling origin story I have ever read.

The finale finds its climax when Kara discovers that her coach is not a coach, but a scientist – one whose ends have honorable merit but whose means include secret experimentation on an alien test subject. This is the same coach who was there at the earthquake, who saw Jen die, who checked on Kara to make sure she would be okay. When Kara finds out the earthquake that killed her best friend was an accidental side effect of the experiments, it does not matter that their discoveries could provide a renewable energy source, reduce climate change, or anything else it could potentially do – Kara recognizes her as evil, and at the same time meets Tan-On, the long-tortured test subject, the first Kryptonian Kara has ever known. Only Tan-On is less forgiving of humans, having known nothing but their torture, and wants to kill the savages who brutalized him and return home to Krypton and report what he learned. The Krypton that no longer exists, a fact he was unaware of having been tortured for science since 1981.

Supergirl Being Super #4 Panel 1

There are so many angles with which any reader can empathize, and that is what makes our conflict so absorbing. Can you blame Tan-On, a peaceful ambassador, for seeing humanity as savages, dangerous to the rest of the universe? Could you blame Kara for making either decision, to defend humanity or cling to Tan-On? Do you wholly condemn the band of scientists who sacrificed a new life to potentially save an entire planet’s future? You may, but you should at least pause at the Trolley-car-esque question of morality and responsibility. The landscape is laid with paths of defensible options, and so you ask what you – what Kara – should do. And then you watch.

Supergirl Being Super #4 Panel 2

The art, drama, personal discovery, and even occasional comedy courtesy of Dolly make for a 4-part series worth every bit of your time. What more can I say? Read Supergirl: Being Super, and read anything Mariko Tamaki writes for the rest of your life. I know I will.

10 out of 10
