https://nerdist.com/article/game-of-thrones-creators-sdcc-2019/ Earlier this month we found out Game of Thrones was going to hold the very rarely seen “two-month reunion,” with a Hall H panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Two very big names were not expected to be a part of that celebration – showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. That wasn’t exactly a surprise. The two co-creators, who told the world they were going to hide from the internet after the series finale, have not been heard from since the show ended with a divisive finale that ended a frequently criticized last season. But now, in what qualifies as a minor stunner, HBO has announced that the pair will be in attendance at the pop culture event of the year.
The network announced it will host three Hall H panels at this year’s event. Alongside the Game of Thrones (Friday, July 19 at 5:30 p.m), there will also be ones for their upcoming adaptation of His Dark Materials (Thursday, July 18 at 4:45 p.m) and Westworld (Saturday, July 20 at 1:15 p.m.). HBO also says fans should “keep a look out around the Gaslamp Quarter for a surprise in-world opportunity to engage” with their new Watchmen series.
In addition to the panels, each show will hold an autograph session. You can find information for all of them, as well as who will appear at the other two panels, below.
The biggest news though is that Benioff and Weiss will be joining Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei of Naath), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont), Conleth Hill (Varys), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), and director Miguel Sapochnik on stage. We don’t know who will host the panel, or if the showrunners will address the criticisms of the series finale that they both wrote and direct, but we can’t wait to find out
If you do go though, remember you’re only upset because you loved something they created, and they didn’t have to attend at all. So maybe don’t ask Benioff and Weiss to sign yours “Sorry.”
