Fans of the long running sci-fi franchise are divided on whether or not the J.J. Abrams reboot is good or not, or if it is even really Star Trek or not. Hopefully, Beyond has converted some of the naysayers, as the newest film is a combination of the best elements from both TOS and the reboot. Star Trek is about exploration and different people/aliens working together towards a common positive goal, usually to help save others. The first two of the Kelvin timeline movies lost some of that adventurousness and togetherness, but luckily fellow nerd Simon Pegg tried to steer it back in the right direction.
