Although Marvel revealed tons of Phase 4 MCU movies and TV shows back at San Diego Comic Con, a third Ant-Man movie was curiously absent. We figured the tricky relationship with Sony (although we didn’t know quite how tricky) would save a Spider-Man announcement for later. But why hold back Ant-Man? After playing a pivotal role in saving the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Endgame, was Paul Rudd hanging up his bug costume for good?

Nope. After a rocky start that saw the dismissal of geek director icon Edgar Wright and his years of work on the project, the Ant-Man franchise will in fact expand from tiny heist movie to full-on trilogy. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Peyton Reed, the director who has shepherded these size-changing superhero shenanigans, will in fact direct Ant-Man 3, probably coming in 2022.

There are no specific plot details, or explanation as to why the announcement took so long. But Paul Rudd is expected to return as Scott Lang. We’d be shocked if the rest of his supporting cast, from Michael Douglas to Evangeline Lily to maybe even Michelle Pfeiffer, don’t return as well.

One thing Ant-Man 3 will have to grapple with though is how the loss of five years has impacted Scott’s relationship with his now-grown daughter Cassie. Along with the traumatic emotional implications, many suspect this movie will also set up Cassie as her own shrinking superhero, Stature, for some kind of Young Avengers team-up.

And speaking of Spider-Man, another 2022 Marvel sequel tease with virtually no details is that the acclaimed, award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is getting a follow-up on April 8, 2022. Expect Miles Morales and all his interdimensional Spider friends to return (with hopefully new ones in tow). It sounds like the same creative team is behind this, too, so we aren’t worried.

The Miss Universe Pageant has found a new home. This year’s event will be held at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta that just opened last month. The pageant will be hosted by Steve Harvey and will be broadcasted live on FOX and Telemundo on December 8th, 2019.

“The Miss Universe telecast is distributed to more than 170 countries,” Paula M. Shugart, president of The Miss Universe Organization said in a statement. “We have always been proud to give a global platform to diverse, ambitious and strong young women – our leaders of tomorrow.”

Women from 90 countries will compete in categories like swimsuit, evening gown, interview and personal statement.

This is the first major event to held at the studio, which was built on a former Confederate army base. The studio is impressive with 12 sound stages across its 330 acres. Each soundstage is named after iconic black figures in film like Spike Lee, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Della Reese, Halle Berry, Sidney Portier, Whoopi Goldberg and Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis Jr. His two latest BET shows, The Oval and Sistas, are filmed at the mega studio.

The opening of the studio that is solely owned by a black man is a major accomplishment for Perry. His studio is larger than Disney’s, Paramount’s and Warner Brother’s. He bought the 330 acres back in 2015 for $30 million.

Steve Harvey will return as host for the 2019 Miss Universe pageant hosted by Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Ga.

The three-hour, international beauty competition will air live on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. ET on Fox and will simulcast live in Spanish on Telemundo.

In a statement reported by Deadline, “The Miss Universe telecast is distributed to more than 170 countries,” Paula M. Shugart, president of The Miss Universe Organization, told The Associated Press. “We have always been proud to give a global platform to diverse, ambitious and strong young women – our leaders of tomorrow.”

The Miss Universe pageant includes women from more than 90 countries competing across several categories, ranging from swimsuit and evening gown to personal statement and interview. The Philippines’ Catriona Gray, the reigning Miss Universe, will be on hand to crown the new Miss Universe.

After the media mogul opened up a 330-acre Atlanta-based studio that contains 12 soundstages and getting an official endorsement of support from Congresswoman Maxine Waters his momentum continues to build.

His latest two shows Tyler Perry’s The Oval and Tyler Perry’s Sistas earned him massive ratings in BET’s top slots.

Stacey Abrams, whose fight for the governorship of Atlanta was brought to the national stage tweeted about Perry’s latest endeavor to host the next presidential debate.

MSNBC and The Washington Post are presenting the debate which will air Nov. 20 from 9 to 11 p.m. ET. The moderators are Rachel Maddow, Andrea Mitchell, host of Andrea Mitchell Reports; NBC News’ White House correspondent Kristen Welker, and White House reporter for The Washington Post, Ashley Parker.
