The Terrifics #26

After the traditional cold opening, Yang sets the stage by having Mr. Terrific and Stagg reveal a new revolution in public transit, something that most metropolitan areas desperately need. And Davilia, alongside Cifuentes and Protobunker, sells the device with a beautifully rendered holographic super train. It provides an awesome pivotal set piece as its inaugural trip meets the usual problems of an inaugural technology reveal in a superhero universe.

Batman and the Outsiders #11

The focus of this issue is action, and Soy goddamn delivers. This is some of the most beautiful fight sequences I think I’ve seen in a superhero comic, and there is a sheer variety of combat going on. You got some of the best hand to hand fighters flexing. You got metas letting loose. And after the action, you got rising stakes that make you that much more invested in the story.

Thor #4

While this was the first issue of Cates run that didn’t feature a jaw dropping, hall of fame worthy opening page or 2, he really came hard in the emotional moments of Thor #4. Seeing Sif stand up to her King was so powerful. Seeing Thor blind himself in preparation of Winter’s arrival and crying at the loss of life before him was humbling.

X-Men #8

By the end of this issue, we know exactly where things are heading, and I’m very excited to see more from the Shi’ar empire in Hickman’s world. This issue was cool but didn’t really take us anywhere. With so much happening in the “Dawn of X,” this was one of the few issues that felt a tad bit yawn worthy.

The first professional basketball player to be infected with the COVID-19 virus is giving back to the Utah community by contributing $500,000 to part-time Utah Jazz employees and making a donation toward COVID-19-related social services relief, according to NBA.com.

The Utah Jazz announced over the weekend that Rudy Gobert is donating more than $500,000 to support both the employee relief fund at Vivint Smart Home Arena and COVID-related social services relief in Utah, Oklahoma City, as well as within the French healthcare system.

The generous donation will provide $200,000 in salary aid to the part-time employees who are unable to work at the home arena of the Utah Jazz due to the postponement of NBA games and entertainment events at the venue. This will take place in conjunction with employee assistance efforts already being undertaken by Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment.

“I am humbled by the tireless efforts and care of people around the globe for those affected by COVID-19, especially my own communities of Utah and France, in addition to my appreciation for the state of Oklahoma and my care there, and of course, my Utah Jazz family,” Gobert said in a written statement.

Gobert has also pledged that he will contribute $100,000 each to assist families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Utah and nearby Oklahoma City plus an additional 100,000 euros for his native country of France. Emerging areas of pressing need include childcare assistance to healthcare workers as well as for caregivers to the elderly.

“I know there are countless ways that people have been impacted. These donations are a small token that reflect my appreciation and support for all those impacted and are the first of many steps I will take to try and make a positive difference while continuing to learn more about COVID-19 and educate others. Much gratitude, RG.”

There are more than 800 part-time employees who work events at Vivint Smart Home Arena in many different areas, which include food service, security, guest services, custodial, and more. Because of the pandemic, four upcoming concerts have been postponed through the end of April, in addition to the remaining 10 home games that were scheduled before the suspension of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 I have more bad news everyone! It seems like Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris are going to be closing starting tomorrow. They will also stay closed for the rest of March and will open on April 1^st. Although, Disney has added some Purell hand sanitizer that people can use everywhere, but it’s too late. So, it seems crazy that every Disney Park around the world will be closing due to the Covid-19. I also think that every Disney Park should keep the added Purell hand sanitizer so that it can be everywhere at each park. Even when all the Disney Parks open back up these stations should remain because you know that people are not going to wash their hands. This will make the spread worse and that is why they don’t want you to come to the park.

Any time you hear relationship advice, you have to ask yourself if that’s right for you. Only you know what goes on inside your relationship. Only you really knows how you and your partner work. You’re also the only one who understands your tolerance for certain dynamics, or fully understands your partner’s intentions and values. Not every piece of relationship advice is for everyone, even some advice that would generally seem good.

That being said, there is some antiquated relationship advice that has just got to go. I can’t believe anyone is still slinging it. It’s left over from some era when men didn’t view women as equals, women didn’t demand to be treated as equals, and, generally speaking, romantic partners weren’t friends. They were two people who were sexually attracted to each other and then engaged after months of game-playing, each trying to get the upper hand, until they got married too quickly to the wrong person because that’s what ya did.

“Play hard to get.” That’s one of the quintessential pieces of advice from this general category of garbage advice. That’s one we’ve all heard before, and it’s so juvenile. But it’s a symbol of the type of advice I’m talking about. It’s the advice that implies that romantic partners are competitors, rather than teammates, and that a relationship is about being in control rather than helping each other out. It’s a tyranny rather than a democracy. When I hear a woman say things like, “Play hard to get,” I feel she sets the women’s liberal movement back decades. Any piece of relationship advice that sounds more like a tactical move is BS. Here is relationship advice you can feel free to ignore.

But that is so unhealthy, and nobody winds up happy there. Two truly happy people are two people who say, “I’m fully yours and you’re fully mine and I want to make you feel secure in that.”
