T.J. Storm has been a performance capture actor, stunt performer, and voice actor who’s appeared in a wide variety of features where you may or may not have seen his face. Make no mistake, though—he’s there.

Storm appeared on two panels at SDCC 2024 related to his work in two of Legendary’s Godzilla films (he did the performance capture for 2014’s Godzilla and 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters), and to celebrate the big guy’s 70th anniversary. In the first, he sat alongside Director Ryûhei Kitamura (2004’s Godzilla: Final Wars) and fellow performance capture artist Allan Henry (2024’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire) to discuss Godzilla’s 70th anniversary, as well as the 20th anniversary of Final Wars. In the second, he was again paired with Henry, as well as Daniel Edery, who was the 3D Modeler for Tiamat in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and concert artist DopePope, who was the character designer for Tiamat.

In both panels, Storm was an engaging, fun presence, speaking about his work in motion capture, as well as his on-screen and voice acting, and his martial arts background. Storm owns Mind’s Eye Tribe, where he offers classes in action acting, including motion capture and sword training.

Storm is passionate about his work and his teaching. The Nerd Element had a chance to speak with him at SDCC 2024 about his work as Godzilla, as well as his other Marvelous work our readers are sure to have seen and/or played the games based on those films. Storm is also quite tall, necessitating a handheld camera, which may make things seem a little shaky.
