Listen to your “invincible” AFROnerdist hosts as they wax about the following (mid) weekly issues: legendary athlete/activist, Colin Kaepernick’s Ava DuVernay directed drama series, Colin in Black and White is currently being shown on Netflix, but as expected, the show is not without controversy.  Kaepernick’s assertion that the NFL’s treatment of its Black players is similar to chattel slavery has raised the ire of many critics; well, it’s finally here, Disney’s Hawkeye series (two episodes) premiered today and we have our thoughts; 

In perhaps a karmic turnaround, the Georgia jury came back with a guilty of murder verdict for the three white men responsible for killing unarmed jogger, Ahmaud Arbery; Dburt just discovered this bit of interesting entertainment business news- the comedian, Amaru, is currently building Greenwood District Studios, a Black-owned movie studio located in Lansing, Michigan;   

And lastly, Marvel (print) is premiering two revamped comic book series for the Hulk and Black Panther, with the promise to take the two iconic characters in different and unforeseen directions, thematically.  We share our thoughts.
