This weekend has been all about trailers! After years of anticipation, Sony Pictures is finally giving us a Miles Morales Spider-Man on the big screen! After the jump, check out the just released trailer for the animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse!
We’ve been banging the drums for a Miles Morales Spider-Man movie for some time now. And while this isn’t exactly Miles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where Tom Holland is currently the only live action Spidey around, this animated version looks like it might be the best Spider-Man movie of them all.
According to io9, the voice cast includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Mahershala Ali (!!!) voicing his father, and actor Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’ uncle, Aaron Davis, otherwise known as The Prowler.
That last bit of casting is a bit of an easter egg too. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Donald Glover — the man most responsible for the creation of Miles (not named Brian Michael Bendis) — cameod as Miles’ uncle in this summer’s superhero blockbuster.
Now, Glover’s Atlanta co-star is taking on the animated version of the role.
No word on whether Glover himself will make an appearance.
