Good evening, folks! Today I want to discuss about the ticket prices that went up yesterday. So, l’s get started. The tickets for Disneyland as a no surprise have increased. They do this every year. Disneyland tickets are increasing by six percent. Peak season, single-day tickets – such as during the late December holidays – increased from $194 to $206.

There was also a price increase on annual passes for Disney’s original resort in California.

“There is nothing like a visit to Disneyland Resort,” Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Good said in a statement. “We always provide a wide variety of ticket, dining and hotel options, and promotional offers throughout the year, to welcome as many families as possible.”

The Imagine Magic Key pass is now $599 after an increase of $100.

But for the first time, Magic Key holders can get half off the day-of price during most of January.

Last Thursday, Disneyland Resort announced for a limited time, tickets for children ages 3 through 9 can be purchased for $50. Disneyland’s multi-day tickets have also increased about by 6.5%, with a two-day ticket starting at $330 when it previously started at $310. Longer five-day tickets are now $511 and were previously $480.

The theme park resort’s annual pass, called Magic Key Passes, also saw an increase anywhere from about 6% to 20%, the latter of which is for the lowest level Southern California resident-only Imagine Key, which is now $599. Disneyland’s highest-level Magic Key increased to $1,749, a price increase of about 6%. While Magic Keys are not currently on sale, Disneyland has said that new sales of the annual pass program will resume later this year.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the paid skip-the-line service also increased in price. At Disneyland, guests can pay for the service before they arrive at the parks for $32 per person, per day. This is an increase of 6.7% over the old $30 price tag. According to MickeyVisit.com, which published a study looking at the last decade of price increases at Disneyland, from 2014 to 2024. The study takes into account that tiered pricing was not introduced at Disneyland until 2016. The highest single park per day ticket increased by $110, or 114.58%. On the other side of the scale, the lowest-priced one park per day ticket only increased by $8, or 8.33%. Park Hopper tickets increased too, with the highest-priced option for single-day park hopper increasing by $131, equating to 87.33% . The lowest-priced Park Hopper ticket increased by $19, a 12.67% increase. And if you bought Disneyland’s longest, and most expensive multi-day ticket, a five-day park hopper, the price increased by $311 from 2014 to 2024 101.87% increase. The study also shows in the year between March 24, 2024 and March 24, 2025, Disneyland will have 34 days of tickets available at the lowest Tier 0 cost, which is less than 10%. In the same period, 55 days have tickets available at the highest Tier 6 cost, which is about 15%.  Fans who are debating renewing or purchasing a new Magic Key will want to think out the increased cost carefully. According to Disneyland, the Imagine Key pays for itself in four visits to the parks, as prices are compared against current Tier 0 Park Hopper prices. The most expensive Inspire Key will take 11 trips to a theme park to break even based on Tier 0 Park Hopper prices. The other two levels of Magic Key, Enchant and Believe, are now $974 and $1,374, respectively, and pay for themselves in six or nine visits, respectively.

Along with the ability to enter the parks on designated days, Magic Key holders are privy to some other benefits that can help to outweigh the cost of the pass. The benefits are based on the level of Magic Key but generally include parking, dining and merchandise discounts. There is currently a 25% discount on Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Magic Key holders too.

Starting in 2025, Magic Key holders will have some other extras, including select times of the year when Lightning Lane Multi Pass is discounted to 50% off. The first time this benefit will be offered is January 6 through 31, 2025. Luckily for Disney fans who can be flexible with travel days, the lowest priced, Tier 0 ticket prices have not increased since 2019. And throughout the year last year, Disneyland offered discounted tickets, including a nearly four-month summer ticket offer that brought three-day ticket prices down from $390 to $299.

Earlier this month, Disneyland announced a limited-time ticket offer for kids-priced tickets. For children ages 3 to 9, tickets can be as low as $50 per child for visits between January 7, 2025, and March 20, 2025. Disney goers can choose from multi-day park tickets and upgrades like Park Hopper and Lightning Lane Multi Pass add-ons with this deal too. The offer goes on sale starting October 22, 2024.

And those looking for savings on a Disneyland Resort hotel can save up to 25 percent on bookings of four nights or longer from January 7, 2025 through March 20, 2025.

Again, I’m not surprised about the ticket increase because they do it every year. I know that some people are not happy about the news, but it is a reality. The good news for fans is that Disneyland is offering $50 tickets for children so the can take advantage of it while they can.
