Most of us don’t have the occasion to create themed rooms very often, which makes decorating your baby’s nursery a fun project!
But it’s easy to get carried away. At some point between the caffeine-fueled Pinteresting session and loading up your Amazon shopping cart, you may begin to realize that opting for the matching furniture and rug and curtains and decor for your Star Wars baby nursery probably wasn’t the best idea.
Let’s avoid the hassle of online returns, shall we? Use these simple tricks to theme your nursery without going overboard and ending up with an explosion of licensed fabrics that are overwhelming to the eye (and the wallet). - Safety first.
This one’s a bit of a no-brainer, but still very important to remember. Make sure that the furniture items you purchase are highly-rated for safety, and ensure that they can be fastened to the wall. This is equally important for decor items, which should be securely fastened when hung. Don’t forget about smaller safety items too, such as outlet plug protectors and cabinet locks.
- Find the perfect space.
When trying to pick a room in your home to convert into a nursery, you may not have a ton of options. It may also be tempting to just set up the crib beside your bed and call it a day.
But your baby will have many essential items that will take up space and need their own homes. Not to mention, babies sleep better and better in their own rooms as they age.
When choosing the nursery space, make sure it is optimized and ready for a newborn. The space should be well-ventilated, not too hot or cold, and should have a ceiling fan to circulate air (proven to reduce the risk of SIDS).

To help prevent your nursery from looking cluttered and visually noisy, select one area or item that you want to be the focal point of the room. This could be a unique rug, the perfect set of curtains, or a hand-painted mural. Whatever it is, allow that piece to be the object of attention, and choose colors, textiles, and decor items around that focal point.
- Make the nursery work for your baby, and for you.
Of course, the baby’s nursery should be tailored to their unique needs. But parents spend a lot of time in nurseries too! Find furniture items that are not only stylish, but comfortable. When you’ve been up all night with a screaming newborn or you’re changing the 17th diaper of the day, you’ll be glad you splurged on the cushy chair and the better changing table.

If you’re about to be a first-time parent, I promise that whatever number of diapers, linens, clothing, wipes, etc. you think you will go through on a daily basis, you can safely double, if not triple, that number.
And after the third time stripping the crib sheets to launder them within a 24-hour-period, you’ll be grateful you picked the durable, washable option.
Don’t stop at the obvious things- you should also look for washable pillows, curtains, rugs, even wallpaper. No, we’re really not kidding.
- Stay away from white.
Pro-tip: your beautiful white chair, soft ivory crib sheets, and plush white rug won’t stay that way for long.
Rather than crossing your fingers that they don’t get stained and then being heartbroken when they do, try to find flattering neutrals that match your theme but also hide stains and dirt.

While fandom items are awesome and nerdy nurseries are the coolest, it can be very easy to tiptoe into the realm of “tacky”.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is still almost a year away from hitting movie theaters. But the good folks at Hasbro are going to have something special to tide all the fervent alien symbiote fans over until then. The company just announced on the Hasbro Pulse livestream that pre-orders are up for a new wave of Marvel Legends action figures, all featuring Venomized version of classic Spidey-verse characters!

The figures in this wave bring together several fan favorite characters from across the Spider-verse, including a figure based on Venom from the 2018 big screen version. Although that figure doesn’t come with a Tom Hardy head sculpt. The coolest part of this wave is that if you collect all of them, the Build-A-Figure will be none other than Venompool! It’s the ultimate ’90s Marvel action figure!

Aside from the movie version of Venom, the other figures in this wave include a ’90s Spider-Man: The Animated Series style Morbius, Cletus Kasady as Carnage, Maximum Venom Miles Morales, Ghost-Spider (a.k.a. Spider-Gwen), and Phage. Interestingly, Peter Parker didn’t make the cut this time. Well, he’s probably sick of that black alien goo by now anyway.

Everybody get up, it’s time to slam now, cause we got another jam goin’ down. Welcome to the Space Jam… 2. More than two decades after Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes defeated the Monstars, and after years of false starts, we’re finally getting a sequel. What will the new Tune Squad with LeBron James look like and when will we see his team hit the court? Here’s what’s up, doc, with everything we know about Space Jam 2 so far.
Official Title and Logo
The film’s official title is Space Jam: A New Legacy. Mega superstar LeBron James shares top billing with an animated character in the movie, which is amazing.

Release Date
The movie will tip off in theaters next summer, on July 16, 2021. However, COVID-19 delayed the current season. It’s possible the 2020-2021 NBA season will end well after June, maybe even as late as August, which could push the film’s release to the “off-season” in the fall.

LeBron James’ company Uninterrupted offered the first look at the Tune Squad’s new uniforms and they are definitely not subtle. A colorful blue set has replaced the original white jerseys. They have a giant Looney Tunes logo, which spans both the top and the shorts, on one side.
These are dramatically different from what Michael Jordan wore.

Kids are probably going to love them.
Cast
Most people know LeBron James as one of the stars of Trainwreck, but what is less known is he also plays in the National Basketball Association. And he’s not half-bad. He’ll be stepping into the lead role that originally belonged to the GOAT Michael Jordan.
Star Trek Discovery‘s Sonequa Martin-Green has also signed on to the film. Variety reports she is expected to play James’ wife in the film. Avenger Don Cheadle will also appear in a still-unannounced role. With his vast experience fighting dangerous aliens, he seems like a natural for the Tune Squad.
NBA insider Shams Charania got to add entertainment reporter to his résumé by announcing which real basketball players will join LeBron James in the film. They include NBA stars Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, and James’ Lakers teammate Anthony Davis. WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike will also be in the film.

The Looney Tunes are returning. We’re unsure though if Mr. Swackhammer will return with a new team of Monstars, or if the movie will have a new villain.
At one point former NBA player Jared Sullinger was listed in the cast as playing NBA Hall-of-Famer Charles Barkley, a Space Jam star whose talents were stolen. If this is not an error, it could mean we’ll see flashbacks, or possibly some time traveling shenanigans, which will involve a much younger Barkley.
Either way, that hopefully indicates the real Barkley returning for the sequel as well, and possibly other NBA stars who also co-starred in the first film. That includes Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Shawn Bradley, and Larry Johnson. It’s unknown if the first film’s stars Wayne Knight and Bill Murray will also return, or Danny DeVito, who voiced Swackhammer.
And while we know Michael Jordan doesn’t play basketball anymore, the Tune Squad might need a GM.
One major star from the original film who will return is Bugs Bunny, as he was given a locker in the first promo image for the film.

Filmmakers
Black Panther‘s Ryan Coogler is producing the film. He wrote the film along with Sev Ohanian. Malcolm D. Lee (Girls Trip, Night School) is directing, taking over from Terence Nance.
Filming
Filming was scheduled to begin in L.A. on June 17, 2019. That was the day after the last possible date the NBA Finals could have ended. Shooting was scheduled to wrap up in late August before the NBA pre-season kicked off.
