Hi everyone! Today I want to go over which game team picks I got correct and wrong. I predicted that the Titans would beat the Colts 30-24, but the final score was 34-31 Titans over the Colts in overtime. The Titans came back from being down 14-0. The Titans were able to come away with the win on a game-winning field goal after the defense got the interception. I predicted that the Bills would beat the Dolphins 34-19, but the final score was 26-11 Bills over the Dolphins. I predicted that the Eagles would beat the Lions 26-17, but the final score was 44-6 Eagles over the Lions in a blowout win. I predicted that the Rams would beat the Texans 40-10, but the final score was 38-22 Rams over the Texans. The Texans late in the 4th quarter made it a little bit interesting, but it was not enough to beat the Rams. I predicted that the Seahawks would beat the Jaguars 24-13, but the final score was 31-7 Seahawks over the Jags. I predicted that the Broncos would beat the Football Team 33-17, but the final score was 17-10 Broncos over the Football Team. I predicted that the Cowboys would beat the Vikings 32-27, but the final score was 20-16 Cowboys over the Vikings. I predicted that the Chiefs would beat the Giants 36-24, but the final score was 20-17 Chiefs over the Giants in a close game.

I predicted that the Bengals would beat the Jets easily 40-10, but the final score was 34-31 Jets over the Bengals. I was pretty shocked to see the Bengals losing to a team that is not very good. That was the game the Bengals should have won. Or maybe the Jets just came to play, who knows! I predicted that the Browns would beat the Steelers 27-24, but the final score was 15-10 Steelers over the Browns. I predicted that the Bears would beat the 49ers 23-20, but the final score was 33-22 49ers over the Bears. I predicted that the Chargers would beat the Patriots 38-21, but the final score was 27-24 Patriots over the Chargers. I predicted that the Buccaneers would beat the Saints 31-23, but the final score was 36-27 Saints over the Buccaneers.

So, I have gotten 8 out of 13 picks correct! Now let’s get to the week 9 NFL picks, shall we?! The first game I will predict is the Raiders @Giants game. I think the Raiders will beat the Giants 34-20. The next game I will predict is the Falcons @Saints game, the divisional rivalries. I think the Saints come out on top of the Falcons 36-17. I just think the Falcons are not talented enough to beat the Saints and besides, the Saints are rolling right now after they got off to a little bit of a bumpy start to the season. The next game I will predict is the Bills @Jags game. I do expect the Bills to beat the Jags 38-21. The Bills are just a dangerous team and the Jags can’t really win games. The next game I will predict is the Browns @Bengals game, the divisional rivalries. I think this is going to be a good game. I think I will give this game to the Bengals because I think that they know that they should have won the game last week. So, the final score I will say is 31-28 Bengals over the Browns in a very close game. The next game I will predict is the Patriots @Panthers game. I might actually think the Patriots can beat the Panthers 32-26 because I think that they might be starting to play a little bit better. But you never know! The next game I will predict is the Broncos @Cowboys game. I think this is going to be a really good game. The last time these 2 teams play was in 2013 when the Denver Broncos beat the Dallas Cowboys in a big shootout 51-48!! This time I don’t think it will be a shootout like that again. I think I am going to get the edge to the Cowboys over the Broncos 44-31 because I think the Cowboys are playing a little bit better than the Broncos are right now. The next game I will predict is the Vikings @Ravens game. I think this might actually be a great game here. However, I think the Ravens will do enough to beat the Vikings 27-23. The Ravens may make things hard for the Vikings to try and come back and win. The next game I will predict is the Chargers @Eagles game. I think the Chargers will bounce back with a win over the Eagles 24-16. The next game I will predict is the Packers @Chiefs game. I think this game will be a great game. Aaron Rodgers however will not play tomorrow because tested positive for Covid-19. He basically lied about the Covid-19 vaccines in an interview. He was trying to defend himself by saying he did not lie, but he did. If you are a Packers fan, then you would have to be disappointed in him. It possibly could end his career in Green Bay if he keeps acting like this. I was going to pick the Packers to win this game, but since the quarterback is going to be out, I actually think the Chiefs can pull off the win over the Packers in a close game 36-31.

The next game I will predict is the Cardinals @49ers game, the divisional rivalries. The Cardinals are coming off with their first loss of the season against the Packers and the 49ers are coming off with the win over the Bears. The 49ers are feeling it as they come back to Santa Clara and it is not really a good look for the Cardinals. The Cardinals are going to be without a wide receiver A.J. Green because he apparently tested positive and if D-Hop can’t go, then it will be very hard for the offense to try and win the game. You also got Kyler Murray who is trying to deal with his injury and if he can’t go, then a backup quarterback Colt McCoy will be starting. The good news is that some offensive linemen is going on the right track to play such as Rodney Hudson and Justin Murray. The Cardinals have to protect the quarterback cleanly so that Kyler Murray does not have to go backwards and getting sack for a big loss. The 49ers may be without their top safeties, but they will have the quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and a tight end George Kittle back. These 2 players did not play last time. The Cardinals need to run the ball more, pressure the quarterback, stop the run, and get off to a good start. The run defense of the Cardinals are struggling to stop the run. I think this will be a very close game. I think I’m going to give the Cardinals an edge barely over the 49ers 27-20. Again, don’t overestimate the Cardinals too much though because you never know what could happen and they cannot lose 2 straight. It does have to be a sweep tomorrow. The next game I will predict is the Titans @Rams game on Sunday Night Football. The Titans will be without their starting running back Derrick Henry for the remainder of the season. I think that this should be a really good game here. I might be wrong in this game, nut I actually think the Titans can beat the Rams in a very close game 31-27. The Rams offense may be a bit better than the Titans offense, but I just think the Titans may pull off an upset. I won’t be surprised if the Rams win tomorrow though. The last game I will predict is the Bears @Steelers game on Monday Night Football. I think the Steelers will come away with the win over the Bears 34-24.

So, what do you guys think about the NFL week 9 picks?! I would love to hear lots of comments, thoughts, opinions, questions, or concerns down below!

Lee Pace’s Desert Photos From ‘Foundation’ Set a Thirst Trap for the Internet

lee pace on set of Apple TV+'s Foundation

Lee Pace is best known as an actor, who has appeared in cult series Pushing Daisies and Halt and Catch Fire, as well as blockbuster films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and The Hobbit trilogy. But he’s also an avid photographer, as evidenced by the gorgeous photos he shares on his Instagram. In a new interview with Variety, Pace shares exclusive photos from the set of his latest job, Apple TV+’s science fiction saga Foundation.

“When I look at the pictures that my parents took of us growing up before they got a digital camera, there’s something about, you pull out the camera on a special day. You pull up the camera on someone’s birthday, at the wedding, or the day that you’re just like, ‘I love everyone here and I want to remember this day and everyone here,’” Pace said in the interview. “I love my iPhone and the pictures I can take on it, but it feels kind of ubiquitous. There’s a ‘marking a special moment’ when I pull out that film camera that it’s more than just how the picture looks, it’s how I feel I’ve approached that day.”

Pace posted some of his photos from filming in Malta, as well as Fuerteventura and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.

Based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov, Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire. Pace plays Brother Day, the middle member of a series of genetic clones of Cleon I who reigns as Emperor of the 12,000-year old Galactic Empire.

But fans were less interested in the series itself than the absolute thirst trap photos of the Pace. Pace’s post caused a horny internet meltdown the likes of which we haven’t seen in a minute. Pace, who has long been a lowkey heartthrob, is now blowing up on social media and quite frankly, it’s long overdue.

Many took to social media to swoon over Pace:

Congrats to Pace and Pace fans everywhere. Today we feast. Oh, and watch Foundation, I guess?

Things We Saw Today: ‘Black Panther 2’ Filming Paused as Letitia Wright Recovers From On-Set Injury

https://www.themarysue.com/black-panther-2-filming-paused-as-letitia-wright-recovers-from-on-set-injury/

Letitia Wright as Shuri in Black Panther

Few comic book movies are more highly anticipated than Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The film is a follow-up to 2018’s Black Panther, an Academy Award winning smash hit that earned over $1.3 billion at the box office. But Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death from cancer in 2020 saw director and writer Ryan Coogler take a step back, as he tried to reimagine the sequel without its leading man.

Unfortunately, the film has been hit with a few more setbacks, chief among them the pandemic and the on-set injury of Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the franchise. Wright, who sustained an injury in August during a stunt rig accident.

Wakanda Forever will shut down for the rest of the year and return to filming in 2022. “Letitia has been recovering in London since September from injuries sustained on the set of ‘Black Panther 2’ and is looking forward to returning to work early 2022,” said Wright’s representatives. “Letitia kindly asks that you keep her in your prayers.”

Wright was recently criticized for promoting an anti-vaccine agenda on social media. Wright denies promoting anti-vaxxer beliefs on the set of Wakanda Forever.

Wright’s Shuri is expected to take a more prominent role in the sequel, as she is the heir to the Wakandan throne. There’s no word yet on whether Shuri will become the next Black Panther, but she seems like the obvious choice. She will be joined by Emmy winner Michaela Coel in an undisclosed role, along with Dominique Thorne, who will be introduced as Ironheart/Riri Williams ahead of her own Disney Plus TV series

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to release on November 11, 2022.

‘Dune’ Review: As Good As The Sum of its Parts

https://blacknerdproblems.com/dune-review-as-good-as-the-sum-of-its-parts/

In yet another remake from the 80s, Dune makes its way back onto the nostalgia train and into the pop culture collective memory. For the record, this is the second film but the fourth adaptation of Frank Herbert’s award-winning novels. This is the second movie remake for director Denis Villeneuve and he does not disappoint as a filmmaker. There is grand and sweeping cinematography mixed in with intimate performances from seasoned actors. Dune had everything it needed out of the gate and gains so much momentum on the strength of its direction. Y’all, it does the original vision justice.

Denis Villeneuve holds the line in another sci-fi remake. Listen, he’s got a style, it worked in Blade Runner 2049 and it is even more refined in Dune. Highly contrasted between the extremes of light and dark in each shot. There’s a high level of creativity and intention all throughout the film. It would be easy to just glaze over the undertaking by calling it ‘a love letter’. Nah fam, there were so many obviously deliberate choices and painstaking details that the movie really does just vibrate with the resonance of Villeneuve’s signature style.

Casting is loaded but not at all overdrawn. A lot of heavy hitters in this cast. While Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya are top-billed and do the damn thing in their roles, my goodness, everyone else carries this first outing. Everyone understood the assignment. Rebecca Fergusson as Lady Jessica is a complex balance of the affection and ferocity of any and every mother. Charlotte Rampling alone, as the Reverend Mother completely ate every moment of her less than five minutes of screen time. The bruisers of the film – Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, and Dave Bautista provide the edge and gruff to contrast the deeply woven (and intentional) feminine strength that defines the main story arc; but never counteract it. Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, and Javier Bardem bookend the cast as the patriarchs fighting for interplanetary supremacy and survival of their peoples. Each and every character is portrayed in the fullness of their humanity, and the actors leave nothing on the table. Also, shout out to David Dastmalchian for being in everything and being memorable in every role.

Denis Villeneuve is a Dune Stan and he is not shy about it. In several interviews and featurettes, he goes in about Herbert’s work being instrumental in his personal development. He went so far as to say he made this movie for himself since there would be no greater critique. In response to that, his interpretation of Dune is visually stunning. It is clear from the first moment that every penny possible went to making sure the visuals were without flaw or failure. The logistics alone required to bring this world to life make this a must-see in cinema history.

*Light Spoiler Alert*

That said, there are some cultural moments that didn’t sit right with me. For those of you seasoned in the Dune-iverse, quite a few bodies hit the floor in the first part of the book and the original movie. Which is great for getting the story arc off to an explosive start, but literally all of the primary speaking roles for the Black and Brown actors are killed off! When the movie opens it says, “Dune: Part One”, so why oh why can’t these actors have been characters that live? It was so sad to watch the life leave their bodies in such a rich narrative landscape. Quite honestly, it’s a little triggering with all of them but for the one that goes out with some dignity.

Another thing, the OG Dune was very much inspired by various cultural influences, most notably language and aesthetics sourced in Arabic. None of that seems as important or revelatory in this interpretation, but this is only the first installment of a series. Hopefully, there are more people in the room to create longer-lasting opportunities for actors of color in this franchise. Suffice to say, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune is a phenomenal movie and it demands to be seen.
