Paramount and Legendary have finally unleashed the first trailer for Street Fighter, and in true Street Fighter cinematic tradition… it is an absolute, glorious mess. A beautiful disaster, if you will one that suggests this new installment is proudly ready to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the franchise’s chaotic, campy, and undeniably beloved cult-classic predecessors.
Set in 1993, the film follows estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), two warriors whose bromance-turned-rivalry gets reignited when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. What follows, according to the trailer, is a bombastic flurry of Hadoukens, roundhouse kicks, slow-motion glares, questionable hair choices, and enough neon-splashed grit to power a late-night cable marathon.
But beneath the over-the-top action lies something deeper at least, that’s what the booming trailer voiceover wants us to believe. A deadly conspiracy looms over the tournament, one that threatens to pit Ryu and Ken not just against the world’s fiercest fighters, but also against each other. And if they fail? Well, as the trailer reminds us with all the subtlety of a button-mashing rookie: It’s GAME OVER.
Director Kitao Sakurai, best known for blending chaotic visuals with offbeat humor, seems determined to crank the dial past eleven. The trailer promises a film that’s aggressively stylized, tonally unhinged, and possiblycjust possibly aware of exactly what it is. This isn’t prestige cinema. This is arcade energy distilled into two hours of cinematic madness. And honestly? That might be its superpower.
Because let’s be real: Street Fighter movies have never been “good” in the traditional sense. They’ve been bonkers. They’ve been baffling. They’ve been brilliant in their own ridiculous way. From Raul Julia’s legendary “For me, it was Tuesday” moment to the live-action hurricanes that were past adaptations, the franchise has a long history of being so bad it’s iconic.
And this new trailer suggests that legacy is alive and well.
Big kicks. Big drama. Big nonsense. Big fun.
Street Fighter wants to drag us back to the arcade, dust off our nostalgia, and remind us why we fell in love with these characters in the first place flaws, camp, chaos, and all.
Whether it ends up a masterpiece or a magnificent train wreck, one thing’s for sure: we’ll all be lining up to watch the carnage unfold. Hadoukens ready.

Stefon Diggs is showing he’s more than an NFL star and Cardi B’s 4x Pro Bowler boyfriend by stepping into the design world with his luxury furniture debut at Miami Art Basel.
The New England Patriots wide receiver showcased his Si Vis Pacem furniture line at Design Miami during Miami Art Basel, unveiling plush sofas, sculptural backless H-shaped chairs, and oversized fur-framed mirrors, Vogue reports. Now available by commission ahead of a broader release in 2026, Diggs created the collection as functional art meant to bring a sense of peace and style to the home.
“For this launch, I wanted to create functional art pieces, objects, and furniture that contribute to a feeling of peace at home,” Diggs said. “Si Vis Pacem is really a direct reflection of that desire. I feel the most at peace when I’m in a space I created—and I wanted to share that with the world. I would love for people to feel welcomed by my work. Similar to coming home to a warm environment where you can ground yourself and prepare for what’s to come.”
Diggs broke down the meaning behind the line’s name in an Instagram post, noting that he’s been developing the collection for the last year. The title comes from the Latin phrase “if you want peace, prepare for war.”

,” he wrote.
The five-piece collection features a sofa, backless H-shaped chairs, oversized mirrors, a plush olive-green lounge chair, and opulent free-form mirrors wrapped in real animal fur. This element quickly drew criticism from PETA, which called out the All-Pro wide receiver, telling him to stick to football rather than forms of design that cause cruelty to animals.
“These family-oriented Song Dogs can suffer for days before the hunter returns to shoot or bludgeon them to death and peel the skin from their bodies, so PETA urges Diggs to stick to football and use faux fur for his next arts-and-crafts project,” PETA’s Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said.

Shamier Anderson and Stephan James actors, entrepreneurs, and co-founders of The Black Academy and Bay Mills Studios are expanding their mission to uplift and celebrate Black talent with the launch of The Legacy Lounge. This new “In Conversation” series honors the achievements, impact, and cultural legacies of Black Canadians through intimate, in-depth interviews. A reimagining of The Legacy Awards, the series continues the duo’s partnership with CBC and deepens their commitment to platforming Black stories on a national scale.
Set inside a warm, stylish lounge, The Legacy Lounge will feature four 30-minute episodes, each spotlighting a new Black Academy honouree. Anderson and James guide heartfelt conversations that explore each guest’s personal journey, societal contributions, and the legacies they are building for the next generation. The series blends humor, reflection, and human connection bringing audiences inspiring stories wrapped in authenticity and joy.
“This is not just a talk show; it is an immersive experience where laughter, insights, and music create memorable moments,” said Shamier Anderson, Executive Producer and series co-creator. “Our goal is to provide a platform for powerful Black narratives… Each guest brings a unique story that deserves recognition and celebration.”
Stephan James echoes that mission: “Shamier and I believe in the importance of representation and storytelling. Through The Legacy Lounge, we aim to connect our audience with the incredible individuals who inspire change and progress in our communities. We want viewers at home to feel the warmth and authenticity of these conversations.”
CBC also voiced its support for the new direction. “We’re excited about the evolution of the Legacy Awards to this new format,” said Sally Catto, General Manager, Entertainment, Factual & Sports at CBC. “The Legacy Lounge will provide an in-depth and intimate tribute to honourees, and we’re looking forward to sharing these stories with audiences across the country.”

The four-part special will premiere during Black History Month in February on CBC Gem and later on CBC TV, with exact dates to come. Additional honouree announcements are on the way.

Emmy Award winners Jesse Murphy (Laugh It Forward) and Andrew Barnsley (Schitt’s Creek) serve as Executive Producers. Tse Daniel and Shelby Bronstine oversee production on behalf of Bay Mills Studios, The Black Academy, and Project10.

Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series blew into our lives with season one in 2024. And happily, the cartoon-adaptation series was renewed for season two and a final season three. Avatar: The Last Airbender season two will, of course, bring back all our live-action favorites, including Aang, Sokka, Katara, Zuko, Uncle Iroh, and more. But, new faces and friends, including the highly-anticipated live-action version of Toph will come to join them on their journey. Season one of the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series took us on a journey that we happily really enjoyed. And so, we can’t wait for more.

Here’s everything we know about Avatar: The Last Airbender season two.
Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2’s Plot
We don’t know for sure what Avatar: The Last Airbender season two’s plot will bring us. But if season one was any indication, we’ll be following the journey of the Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon’s Book Two: Earth. In Book Two: Earth, the Gaang spent a lot of time in the Earth Kingdom city of Ba Sing Se, where not all was as well as it seemed. In the Earth Kingdom, Team Avatar faced the dangerous Dai Li, encroaching threats from the Fire Nation, and the true threat of all ignorance and fears.
In Book Two of Avatar: The Last Airbender, as will happen in the live-action, Toph also joined Avatar Aang’s group as his Earthbending master. Additionally, Prince Zuko continued his journey toward the side of goodness and redemption, but not without a few setbacks. We can’t wait to see if “Zuko Alone” features in the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender season two.
Of course, as with season one, the live-action series is unlikely to deliver a perfect replica of the cartoon but instead will make some changes and additions of its own. We’re excited for that.
Behind the Scenes
Co-executive producers Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani will be helming season two of the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series as showrunners. Season one showrunner Albert Kim will remain an executive producer on the show.
Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2’s Cast
All the main cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender season one will return in season two. That means we’ll see more of Gordon Cormier as Avatar Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Additionally, Daniel Dae Kim will likely return as the villainous Fire Lord Ozai. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee will be back as the wonderful Uncle Iroh, and Elizabeth Yu will reprise her role as the fiery Princess Azula.
Joining the core cast will be Miya Cech, who will play the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s Toph (a master Earthbender) in season two. Additionally, several other Earth Kingdom roles have been cast. Those include the following:

- Hoa Xuande (The Sympathizer, Top of the Lake: China Girl) as Professor Zei
- Justin Chien (The Brothers Sun, The Great Leap) as King Kuei

- Rekha Sharma (Yellowjackets, Battlestar Galactica) as Amita
