If it felt like a dream come true to try your hand at Crash Bandicoot in the midst of Uncharted 4, you’re in luck: the beloved marsupial is back—and this time, he and his many foes are rendered in glorious HD. We learned at E3 today that Activision is set to release what they’ve dubbed the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro this month. It compiles the first three games in the series: Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped.
Don’t worry; the learning curve of the series isn’t too steep if you’re unfamiliar with the original games. Crash Bandicoot, released way back in 1996, was a fairly basic platformer with a few fun twists along the way, like levels that saw the marsupial riding a pig or (as you may recall from A Thief’s End) running from a boulder. Cortex Strikes Back and Warped built upon that formula, with Warped going so far as to add motorcycle mechanics and underwater levels (though tragically not at the same time).
There’s not much plot in Crash’s world, but there’s no need for it—like Mario and Sonic before him, he’s just a fun character to pilot through elaborate settings on the way to the Big Bad, collecting apples (in lieu of coins or rings) along the way. Equally fun: Coco, Crash’s sister, who’s a playable but oddly silent character in both the original and remastered editions of Warped.
The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy comes out June 30, 2017.

Caron Butler, the NBA star who’s winding down his professional playing days, is a man of many talents—and many business interests.
Butler’s most recent NBA appearances have come from the sidelines, as he’s doing more play-by-play than playing. He’s had numerous guest commentating spots during this year’s NBA playoffs. And he recently signed with an agency to represent him for his broadcasting work.
One of our inaugural BE Modern Man 100 Men of Distinction, Butler is also a veteran when it comes to business. He made headlines in 2010 for buying six Burger King restaurant franchises. Not only was it a smart wealth-building move, but it marked coming full circle from his days mopping floors and making fries there as a teen.
These days he’s keeping himself busy with a portfolio of real estate investments. And even though he sold his equity stake in the Burger King franchises, he’s an investor in Fala Bar, a vegan fast food restaurant franchise, with two locations in Los Angeles.
Butler recently stopped by our office and spoke to Black Enterprise about making the career transition from professional athlete to sportscaster and businessman:
Mathew Knowles, the father of Beyoncé and Solange, recently spoke at Howard University, dishing on his esteemed behind-the-scenes career. Knowles also revealed of his present and former artists’ weakness, in which Beyoncé’s named notably popped up.
“Everybody thinks that they’re the greatest and they should,” he said. “We as label executives, we have to know the limitations of the artists. I can tell you all my artists, the limitations.”
Knowles went on to use his own daughters as examples. In particular, he shared that Queen Bey herself isn’t a natural public speaker. In contrast, he explained that Solange, who has booked many speaking gigs, is the better orator.
“See, I would never have Beyoncé up here public speaking,” he continued. “She’s not good at it. Solange was just at Yale. She’s incredible at it. But I know all of my artists’ [weaknesses]. They all have weaknesses.”
