https://www.blackenterprise.com/dj-whoo-kid-streaming-platform-hip-hop/ Independent hip- hop artists rejoice. There’s a new platform in town. MyMy Hip Hop is the streaming music platform that allows listeners to discover and help promote new independent hip-hop artists. Popular radio personality on Eminem’s Sirius XM Shade 45 channel, Yves “DJ Whoo Kid” Mondesir is in collaboration with MyMy Hip Hop.
The hope for the platform is to help these emerging talents expand their careers through playlists and a digital voting system. “The artists I’ve discovered on MyMy Hip Hop are 100% legit,” said Whoo Kid.
“By featuring these tracks on my playlist, these artists will get industry exposure to agents, record producers, and some of the top performers in the hip-hop industry.”
MyMy Hip Hop is the only streaming site which utilizes blind judging, allowing listeners to rate randomly-queued tracks without any additional information about the artist that may influence how songs are rated. Top performing tracks and artists are then promoted by the site.

According to a recent release, MyMy Hip Hop, launched in 2017, is the first genre-specific streaming platform from MyMy Music. The goal for the blind judging feature is to eliminate any potential bias related to an artist’s name, appearance, hometown, connections, or any other personal information. Tracks are judged and ranked solely on the merit of the music. The platform is 100% community driven allowing the audience to drive the catalog.
“Hip-hop fans come to our app to listen to the best-undiscovered hip-hop music in the world,” said MyMy Music President Shawn Pouliotte. “When industry veterans like Whoo Kid go to our site in search for hot, new hip-hop tracks, our artists are getting the benefit of exposure they can’t get anywhere else.”
Recently the company added, Jojo Brim, a music industry vet who has headed A&R at Arista Records, Island Def Jam Music Group, Warner Music Group, and was previously the general manager for LaFace Records/Epic Records. He will take over the role as Head of Artist Relations for Hip Hop and R&B.
