I’ve talked at length about how fun and freeing it is to tamely torment villagers as a naughty goose in House House’s recently released Untitled Goose Game. Now, thanks to Thingiverse user gynni, if you have a 3D printer at your disposal, you can create your very own troublesome goose.

The basic design of the goose is great but the real beauty is the suggestion to add a strong magnet under the beak. Because what would the goose game be without the ability to steal everything it comes across?

Who wouldn’t want a knife-wielding goose in their home?

The 2nd annual Janelle James Comedy Festival returns December 5-7, 2019 at The Bell House, Brooklyn, NY.

If you haven’t heard of the Janelle James Comedy Festival, let’s share some background on how it got started.

Originally named “The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival,” Mirman stepped down with the final iteration of his self-titled festival in 2017, when Janelle popped the question “Can I have it?” Fortunately, he did indeed hand the baton to Janelle James who tapped Caroline Creaghead to produce it independently with her. Janelle kept the same zany vibe and raucous laughter while adding her own personal touch at the Inaugural Janelle James Comedy Festival.

This year’s lineup includes: Marie Faustin (Comedy Central, VICELAND, MTV’s Girl Code), Kevin Iso (Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party, AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live), Yassir Lester (Girls, The Carmicheal Show), Sam Morril (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan), Hadiyha Robinson (Comedy Central, BET, AXS TV), Kristen Toomey (NBC, WGN, Kevin Hart’s LOL Network), and Sydnee Washington (The UnOfficial Expert Podcast, Comedy Central), with more to be announced.

Tickets go on sale in October, for irreverently named shows like last year’s “Comedians Who Live Nearby” and “Comedians Who Said ‘Well, Who All Goin Be There?’

Mirman, who made an appearance at the festival last year, said “I am thrilled to be part of the first annual Janelle James Comedy Festival. She’s so funny and it’s a joy to see the joke of a self-titled comedy festival live on and be reborn.”  

Janelle James is a Los Angeles based comedian that can be seen on The Comedy Lineup (Netflix), Late Night with Seth Meyers (NBC), and Crashing (HBO).  In what has been an eventful series of events/years, Janelle toured with Chris Rock on his “Total Blackout” tour and Amy Schumer on her “Growing” tour,  before taking over the reins of the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival (now The Janelle James Comedy Festival) in Brooklyn.

She was included in the Just For Laughs Montreal’s New Faces category for 2016, named one of The 50 Most Funny People in Brooklyn 2016 and has been featured several times for her outstanding performance ability in The New York Times. Janelle’s debut comedy album, Black and Mild was released on September 29th, 2017 on all major streaming networks. Janelle is currently a writer on Black Monday on Showtime.

The Exploration Vessel Nautilus (or E/V Nautilus), a not-for-profit scientific research vessel that’s scoured the ocean’s floors with its submarines for years, has uncovered a countless number of bizarre creatures, including alien-like jellyfish and squid. With its latest video, E/V Nautilus adds another little anomaly to its list of observed species, and this one is so rare only four specimens have ever been studied.

The squishy blob-umbrella featured in E/V Nautilus’ latest video (via Laughing Squid) is likely to belong to the Cirroteuthidae family of octopuses, according to cephalopod expert Mike Vecchione, who is quoted beneath the clip on YouTube. Vecchione thinks it’s possible that it belongs, more specifically, to the species Cirrothauma magna, although that doesn’t seem to be definitive. But if that is true, then this thing is definitely straight out of an H.P. Lovecraft story. The only picture of the rare octopus we found is this single drawing:

Unsurprisingly, there doesn’t seem to be too much known about the Cirrothauma magna—if that is indeed what this octopus really is—although E/V Nautilus does note that these weird wiggly dancers of the deep can grow to become five feet in length, and appeared to the crew that spotted it to look like a “bell pepper” with a “clown nose.” And while this type of octopus can potentially grow to five feet in length, the one in the video is a juvenile and is only roughly eight inches long.

We have no idea what kind of unbelievably odd sea creatures E/V Nautilus is going to find next, but all of the videos coming from its current territory of exploration, the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument (which is smack dab in the middle of The Pacific Ocean), have been wild. That’s where this octopus was found, as well as this eel, and while these are both amazing finds, we really hope something of the “giant variety” pops up next.
