Exactly one year to the day after its inaugural season, Daredevil: Born Again returns to our TV screens. In television, that’s a pretty quick turnaround, but there’s still a lot to remember from the nine-episode first season.
Before diving into the highly anticipated new season, let’s take a look at where we left off with everyone.

By the end of Season 1, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) has finally embraced being Daredevil again. He tried to let the justice system handle matters. But after the brutal murders of his best friend, Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), and his innocent, newly-freed client, Hector Ayala (Kamar de los Reyes), aka White Tiger, Matt realized that’s not an option, especially now that Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) has all the power.
It’s implied that Matt and Dr. Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva) are no longer in a relationship, but the last interaction we see between them, he mistakes her for Karen and warns her about Fisk, which she, of course, doesn’t believe. If that wasn’t them breaking up, then they certainly called it quits when he found out she accepted Fisk’s offer. The Season 2 teaser shows Matt likely rekindling with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), so it’s safe to say Heather is out of the picture for now.
Matt closed out the season intending to build an army against Fisk. Going by the last few moments of the finale, the team includes Karen, retired NYPD officer Cherry (Clark Johnson), Detective Angie Kim (Ruibo Qian), at least two other officers, and a couple of unknowns obscured by shadows. This meet-up is in Josie’s bar, so she’s on board, too.

In Episode 8, Fisk watched his wife Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) shoot and kill her old fling, Adam (Lou Taylor Pucci), whom he’d held captive and beaten repeatedly. Adam lived through all of that just to die at the hands of the woman he hooked up with and seemingly didn’t even know was married. His death brings the mayoral power couple back together and strengthens their relationship. Now they’re finally on the same page: Wilson uses his position to control the city, while Vanessa uses the Red Hook port to “move billions.”
After Fisk’s campaign director, Sheila Rivera (Zabryna Guevara), recorded NYPD Commissioner Gallo (Michael Gaston) talking about plans, the poor guy got his head crushed by the Kingpin. Watching your former boss get viciously murdered surely stopped any cops who were thinking of quitting. Like Sheila, they’re stuck out of fear.
The season ended with Mayor Fisk addressing New York citizens, declaring martial law and outlawing vigilantism, giving his no-warrant-bodycam-free Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) even more power to be unnecessarily violent toward anyone. Or, at least, what’s left of them after Frank (Jon Bernthal) killed several of his fanboys, not to mention the apartment explosion.

In episode 7, Heather Glenn was attacked by her patient, Bastian Cooper, aka Muse (Hunter Doohan), whom she ultimately shot to death. Her fascination and distaste for masked vigilantes only increased. Even though Daredevil tried to save her, in Heather’s eyes, the men were fighting for them, not for her; it’s a strange way to see the situation, but she also just went through the trauma of fighting for her life and ending another’s.
The finale sees Mayor Fisk appointing Dr. Glenn as the Commissioner of Mental Health. What exactly that entails is a mystery, but it will not be good.

When Matt visited Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, aka Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), in the penultimate episode, he unintentionally aided his escape. He broke into the party and posted up on the balcony, first aiming at Vanessa, but then taking a shot at her husband. Of course, we know Matt takes the bullet for his enemy. The finale begins with a flashback to Vanessa recruiting Dex to kill Foggy and his client.
The Season 2 teasers suggest a Daredevil-Bullseye team-up is on the horizon.

After killing countless AVTF officers, Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, ended the season in one of Fisk’s cages. A mid-credits scene shows him breaking out like we knew he would, tricking one of his fanboys into shaking his hand.
Frank still hasn’t been confirmed as making an appearance this season. Fingers crossed, he comes back and takes out more of Fisk’s task force. We know he’ll be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and was supposed to have his own Marvel Studios Special Presentation, but that’s yet to be seen.

Season 2 will pick up after a 6-month time jump, plenty of time for Mayor Fisk’s tyrannical rule to ruin the lives of New Yorkers. But that’s also six months for Angela del Toro (Camila Rodriguez) to become the new White Tiger, taking over for her late uncle Hector. She already tried to catch Muse, so we know she’s incredibly brave and wants to be a good person like Hector. Hopefully, she’s ready to join Daredevil’s army.
The last time we saw BB Urich (Genneya Walton), she was talking to Gallo about files on the corrupt cops on Fisk’s task force. Now that he’s dead, she’ll have to find another way to get more damning evidence of Fisk’s delusional decisions. After she was threatened by her so-called friend, Daniel Blade (Michael Gandolfini), Fisk’s loyal protégé and new Deputy Mayor for Communications, BB is seemingly playing the long game, and using the BB Report to spread Fisk’s propaganda. Maybe she’ll meet her uncle Ben’s (Vondie Curtis-Hall) old friend Karen, and they’ll team up to take him down.
Like Frank and other enemies of Mayor Fisk, Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton), aka Swordsman, ended the season locked inside one of his cages. We’d love it if he joined Daredevil in the Fisk resistance, or returned in any capacity, ideally outside of a cage. A Kate (Hailee Steinfeld) and/or Elenear Bishop (Vera Farmiga) cameo would also be very cool.
The chances of seeing Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and her dad, Yusuf (Mohan Kapur), who appeared in episode 5’s Saint Patrick’s Day bank heist, don’t seem likely, but we can still hope. We’re more than excited to see the return of Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), last seen in the Season 3 finale of her titular show on Netflix. An appearance from Luke Cage (Mike Colter) would be a welcome surprise.
Ultimately, if none of these stories get told this season, we always have the officially confirmed third season.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again premieres with its first two episodes on March 4, 2026, on Disney+.
